While the life path number describes your lifelong profile, predictive numerology answers a different question: what does this year bring me? It calculates from your date of birth and the current year your personal year number — a number marking the energetic theme of the next 365 days. The app delivers your current personal year and the reading for it.
The nine-year life cycle
Predictive numerology works with the concept of a 9-year cycle: each year of your life carries a number from 1 to 9, and after nine years the cycle starts over. The calculation: day of birth + month of birth + current year, then reduced to a single digit. Example: born July 14, year 2024 → 1+4+7+2+0+2+4 = 20 → 2+0 = 2. Personal year: 2.
This logic assumes that your life unfolds not linearly but cyclically — like the seasons, like the lunar orbit, like astrological transits. Each year in the 9-year cycle has a different main theme. Whoever understands this plans life differently: 1 years are beginnings, 5 years are movement, 9 years are letting go. Whoever starts a new project in a 9 year fights against the current; whoever starts it in a 1 year sails with it.
What the nine personal years bring
Personal year 1: beginnings, new projects, courage. The sowing phase. Year 2: patience, relationships, consolidation. Growth through cooperation. Year 3: expression, creativity, social visibility. The fruit begins. Year 4: building, hard work, structures. Sometimes laborious, but substantial.
Year 5: change, travel, motion. Often the most exciting year of the cycle. Year 6: responsibility, family, home. The year of taking root. Year 7: retreat, self-reflection, inner work. Sometimes lonely, often deep. Year 8: manifestation, power, material results. The harvest year. Year 9: letting go, conclusion, completion. Preparation for the next cycle. Whoever knows their year number has a map for the next twelve months.
Planning with your year number
- Plan big things for 1 and 8 years. New ventures, marriage proposals, career leaps work best in these years. 1 years for departure, 8 years for culmination.
- Take 7 years as sabbatical years. The 7 year is classically a year of retreat — whoever lives it as a "normal" year and continues at the same activity level often suffers from exhaustion. Whoever allows themselves to live a 7 year more quietly (fewer social events, more inner work) experiences it as regenerating.
- Expect farewells in 9 years. The last year of the cycle often brings the end of relationships, projects, life phases. That is no tragedy but preparation — what ends in the 9 year creates space for what begins in the 1 year.
- Compare with your astrological daily horoscope. The year number gives the year theme, the daily horoscope the short-term movements. Both layers complement each other. Whoever in a 4 year (building) has a Saturn transit astrologically experiences a particularly intense variant of the building energy.
FAQ
When does my personal year begin — on January 1 or on my birthday?
Schools differ here. One tradition (Hans Decoz) says: the personal year begins on the birthday and ends on the eve of the next. Another (Florence Campbell) says: it coincides with the calendar year (January 1 to December 31). This app uses the birthday method, because it is astrologically cleaner (the personal year begins with your solar return). Try both and observe which fits better.
Why do some years not feel like their "expected" theme?
Because your personal year is only one layer among many. If you are in a 1 year (departure) but currently have a serious illness, the 1 energy is suppressed. Astrological transits, life circumstances, health, relationship situation overlay the numerology. The personal year is a tendency, not an order. Whoever knows it can use it — whoever ignores it experiences life simply "going on".
What if I "live the year wrongly" (e.g. departure in a 9 year)?
You do not lose — you work against the wind. It is possible, but more strenuous. Whoever starts a new venture in a 9 year can succeed — but the venture will probably need to be fundamentally restructured in the following 1 year, because the 9 year does not carry real sowing energy. If you have no choice, accept the extra effort and plan the relaunch.
Does predictive numerology also work for companies?
Yes — the founding date of a company has its own personal year, just like a person. Some business consultants with a numerological background use it for strategic planning. Whoever founded a company on January 1, 2020 is in a particular company year in the current calendar year. This application is niche, but growing in consulting circles.
